TourGuide Solutions Update: Special Edition to Support our Communities during Social Distancing Guidelines
Connecting people and empowering exceptional clarity is at the core of what TourGuide provides to its clients. In response, we have put together this special edition to keep you updated and share frequently asked questions.
Q: How can I use my equipment safely during this time?
We are currently supporting a number of applications beyond group tours, including employee training, interpretation, management walkthroughs and assistive listening compliance.
Inherent to our systems design, our equipment typically is used to keep groups of people close together around a presenter. With social distancing, the range feature of our equipment can be taken advantage of to stay 6 ft or more apart. Tour guide systems can range from 150-600 feet line of sight.
Equipment can be easily sanitized following these guidelines. Additional options: Replacement windscreens or assigning each participant their own headphones, earbuds or microphones.
Q: Do you offer a long-term rental program to support social distancing requirements?
To support our essential business, we are offering long-term rental options at a discounted rate. Rental equipment will come to you fully sanitized with brand new windscreens (see our sanitization process). This can be helpful for organizations that are looking to extend their current systems or provide a temporary solution versus making an investment during this time.
Visit our website to request a rental proposal.
Q: What products are available to support training and social distancing?
We recommend our two-way communications systems for configurable and collaborative communications. Our system options can be used for social distancing on a 1-to-1 or 1-to-many basis, and also for your ongoing training, management walkthroughs, group tour, interpretation and assistive listening compliance. Two amazing options:
- ListenTALK is a popular choice for a sleek, easy device that works in multiple modes, from listen only to responding only to the guide or training to full conversation options for the full group to hear.
- Williams AV recently announced the launch of its next generation Digi-Wave Series of digital intercom and tour guide communication systems, the Digi-Wave 400. The Digi-Wave 400 Series takes the existing 300 Series and adds a new user interface, charging dock and pairing option.
Q: What type of hearing protection do you provide that enables safety and sound quality?
We have two different styles of headsets with our two-way communication systems. This includes our over-the-ear dual-muff headset mic for maximum protection. Options are available for hardhat users with a Noise Reduction Rating starting at 25.5 dB.
Our second option includes Protective Ear Buds with a built-in microphone. The in-ear design offers the noise protection of ear plugs and a built-in mic for communicating, all while providing outstanding sound quality and comfort. The universal fit works for all ear sizes. The foam tips provide a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 29 dB and the silicone tips provide a Noise Reduction Rating of 27 dB when used as directed.
